Synopsis

Two women, from two very different worlds go on a personal journey of self-discovery. Their lives become intertwined as they decide to trade places temporarily in order to accommodate their current situations.

After her father dies, Eve, a talented but unfulfilled Hollywood movie star, goes on an epic search for her childhood home on a Greek island that her family left when she was just a child. For the first time in her life she is ignited by a passion and promise that she made to her late father to reconnect with her lost roots, culture and upbringing.

Mary is a simple but feisty and quirky Greek island girl who works in a small hotel in Crete. She has big dreams of someday becoming a movie star. As the two women cross paths and undergo a crazy adventure together, they realize that if they could only switch places, they might just find what they are looking for. With the help of a handsome and laid-back sailor, a modern fortune teller and her sister, a mysterious mountain hermit with a dark secret, they might just be able to pull it off- but with what consequences?

Eve, armed with only a picture of a childhood home and a Greek sailor as her guide, goes on a Mediterranean adventure to find her true self and her purpose in life. The only clue she has to go on is that the house she is searching for has a red door and lemon tree in the front.

Mary's own personal journey takes her on a wild ride with big twists and turns, as she sets out to take on the bright lights of Hollywood. She quickly finds out some surprising truths that go against all expectations.  

Red Door and Lemon Tree tells a universal story that everybody will be able to connect to; You have to know where you come from to know where you’re going and to appreciate where you end up. With Eve and Mary, they are living wildly different lives when they first meet, but we soon discover that even though their journey is different, they are both searching for the same thing.
